St. John Vianney "Without the divine Eucharist there would be no happiness in this world; life would be unbearable. When we receive Holy Communion we receive our joy and happiness". The holy priest also said, "There is nothing so great as the Eucharist."
“If angels could be jealous of men, they would be so for one reason: Holy Communion.”
-St. Maximilian Kolbe
The Holy Mass or the Eucharistic Celebration could be described as the ritual celebration of what Jesus fulfilled only once in history: the Eucharistic celebration is at the heart of our faith and our life.
The Last Supper on Holy Thursday, His Death on Good Friday and His Resurrection on Easter Sunday.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church (1324-1327), states that, "The Eucharist is "the source and summit" of the Christian life. The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it .
The Mass consists in some sense of two parts, namely the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist, these being so closely interconnected that they form but one single act of worship.
The celebration of the Mass can be divided into four parts:
* Gathering rites.
* Liturgy of the Word of God.
* Liturgy of the Eucharist or Meal sharing
* Rite of Commissioning: sending out to live our lives proclaiming the Gospel with our lives.
The Eucharistic celebration is the action of Christ himself and the Church. In it, Christ the Lord, through the ministry of the priest, offers himself, substantially present under the species of bread and wine, to God the Father and gives himself as spiritual food to the faithful united with his offering.
